2atara’s Hilltop Home Featured in Tideland Magazine!

We’re excited to announce that 2atara’s Hilltop House has been featured in the Fall 2024 issue of Tideland Magazine! Titled “A Perfect Perch: Eye-Catching Home Overlooks a Storied Corner of Bainbridge Island”, the article spotlights this striking 2,600 sq. ft. home, designed and built by 2atara founder Craden Henderson.

Constructed using two reimagined shipping containers, the home is built to LEED-Gold standards and combines modern design with a focus on sustainability. One container serves as Craden’s custom home office, while the other forms an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that adds a sculptural element to the landscape. Overlooking the historic Fort Ward neighborhood and a former WWII runway, the home offers clever design solutions throughout, from cantilevered structures to hidden appliances and custom furniture.

Craden, who now lives in the home with his family, shares his design philosophy: “Everything I design, I design with the idea of being able to live in it myself.” From the airy kitchen to the one-of-a-kind ADU, this project showcases 2atara’s commitment to architectural innovation and sustainable living.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and invite you to check out the full article here in Tideland Magazine for an in-depth look at this remarkable project!
